Privacy policy — Skingomz

Skingomz is designed to respect your privacy. The app collects no personal data and uses no tracking or advertising tools.

Data stored on the device​

Your subscriptions, episodes, queue, downloads and playback progress are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to the publisher of Skingomz at any point.

Network​

  • The app contacts the podcast servers you subscribe to directly (RSS feeds and audio files) and, for radio, the stream server of each station. Background refresh (iOS/iPadOS) makes these same requests to detect new episodes.
  • For search and suggestions, it queries the public directories Apple Podcasts (iTunes Search / marketing feeds), fyyd and — for radio — Radio Browser (api.radio-browser.info) — only the search term, the interface language or the device's country (popular stations), never a personal identifier.
  • If — and only if — you set up synchronisation, the app communicates with the server you provide (your Nextcloud instance with the GPodder Sync app, or gpodder.net) to exchange your subscriptions and progress. Skingomz has no access to any of these exchanges. Radio stations are never synchronised.
  • On launch, the app fetches a small public file from the documentation site (GitLab Pages) to find out whether a new version is available. This is a simple read, with no identifier or personal data sent.

New-episode notifications are local: they are generated on the device and send no data to a third-party service.

Credentials​

The synchronisation password and the private-feed credentials (paid podcasts) are stored securely in the system Keychain. They are never written in plain text or logged, only travel to the relevant server (your sync server, or the private feed's server), and are deleted when you unsubscribe.

Tracking​

Skingomz performs no tracking in the sense of Apple's App Tracking Transparency and shares no data with third parties for advertising purposes.
